All A.C.E. of Space members have a specific set of minimum requirements to complete during the year. Girls may show up when they are able, with no pressure to attend all meetings or do the presentations, but will not be recognized in the end-of-year graduation ceremony unless they meet these minimum requirements.

    • One major presentation
    • Talk for at least 20 minutes
    • Significant preparation work involved
    • Include materials such as powerpoint, handouts, group activity, etc
    • Fill out the "How to Plan a Presentation" log in the notebook
  1. - OR -

    • Two minor presentations
    • Talk for about 10 minutes
    • Significant preparation work involved
    • Include materials such as powerpoint, handouts, group activity, etc
    • Fill out the "How to Plan a Presentation" log in the notebook
  2. - AND ALL OF THE FOLLOWING -

    • Shadow a scientist or engineer
    • Sign up at least one month ahead of time (give multiple dates)
    • Girls should consider reporting back to their pod or on Facebook about the experience
    • Fill out the "Shadowing Opportunity" journal page in the notebook
    • Group project/activity
    • Work should be done over about 6 months
    • Girls work in groups (such as the entire pod) to put this together
    • Use the overnight event in June to brainstorm with the help of the girls in other pods
    • Will be presented to Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts at the October event
    • Goal: help other girls to learn about NASA, space, or astronomy
    • Consider games, museum-type exhibits, skits, etc
    • Fill out the "Planning your Group Activity" log in the notebook to plan and self-evaluate
    • Six additional activities, such as:
    • Attend a pod meeting
    • Attend a larger A.C.E. of Space event (The Journey Begins event in March, Night at NASA in June, etc)
    • Additional presentations
    • 2nd or 3rd shadowing experience
    • Go to a planetarium show with your family
    • Attend a space-related talk at a local college
    • Other stuff by approval
    • Fill out and turn in pre- and post-survey, fill out Journal Pages and Logs for all activities, and turn in your notebook for review at the end of the year
